Editor’s Note: Have a question about whether Matt’s disappointed that he’s not enough of a player to be mentioned in the Epstein files? Matt says wait-and-see. If Mr. Gabe Kotter ever has the political courage to release the complete archive of notes from Juan Epstein’s mother……there might be some rude surprises. So before Pam Bondi or Mr. Woodman can indict/suspend him with one of their patented “urgent and integrity”-filled investigations, Ask Matt all your other questions at askmattlabash@gmail.com

Dear Matt,
Marjorie Taylor Greene has been surprisingly mouthy lately. Not about the liberal media, or the DemoRats, but about Trump and MAGA and their Epstein-files suppression. Is Marge turning over a new leaf? Can she be trusted?
In Christ,
Mike Johnson

Sure, I trust her. About as far as I can throw her. Which isn’t far, incidentally. As a former CrossFit gym owner and amateur power lifter, Marge is solidly-built. And while I think I could take her so long as we boxed (I have a longer reach, am a natural-born striker, and her prodigious head provides a target as broad as a White-Lives-Matter mural), when she inevitably takes me to the mat and slaps me in a rear-naked choke, with those powerful forearms and anaconda-like quads, that’d likely be “Goodnight Irene” for me.

Nobody can ever truly see inside someone’s heart. (It’s often dark in there.) But despite all Marge’s recent sassiness and statements of principle – directed at members of her own team, a team regular readers here know I am most definitely not on — color me skeptical of anyone who has been a dedicated member of a cult. While hard numbers are difficult to come by in cult-exit-work, many de-programmers will admit that recidivism is high. And three-year prison recidivism rates — MAGA has been nothing if not a prison of the mind — generally clock in around anywhere from 39-to-50 percent.

My point being that even if Marge has made a surprising jailbreak, that doesn’t mean she’ll stay broken. If there’s one thing we’ve learned from paying even a lick of attention to MAGA for ten years straight, it’s that once it has someone in a rear-naked choke, it doesn’t let go easily.
