My Dad was very political. He went from staunch R to staunch D when Nixon's name appeared at the bottom of my orders to 'Nam. He died in 1998 and I am glad he's not around to witness the current dumpster fire because it would kill him.

Wow...you wanna' get folks talkin', just make the subject politics, or something tangential to politics, or just include the word politics in the text somewhere.

A very unscientific observation here: comments on Anger Problem running much longer - paragraphs, multiple paragraphs - as compared to previous 3 Slack Tides - a few lines, maybe a paragraph here and there, few multiples. Ditto for threads.

OK, bring in a little quasi-scientific discipline...throw out the first two ST's from the sample due to the likelihood of fewer subscribers / readers, and adjust for the fact that Anger Problem may have a bit larger audience than Kind of Blue due to additional subscribers / readers.

Still looks the same to me. And if this is actually the case ( as noted, this is a completely amateur observation ), what, if anything, does that say?

Might be a question for JVL. He's pretty good with numbers stuff.

But I'll posit that perhaps we've sadly reached a point at which we'd rather talk about the stuff that ticks us off and drives us farther apart than the stuff that causes us to reflect on commonalities and brings us closer together.

Could be wrong. Would like to be wrong. Just not so sure that I am.

But A+ for a great read. And for gettin' folks talkin'.
