God bless you for reading the SOTU speech twice for those of us who couldn’t bring themselves to listen even once. I don’t want any part of any of this nonsense; I depend on folks like you to tell me whether there’s something I need to know.

This guy is a pain in the butt to read; he's equivocal, haughty and simplistic. Feeling refreshed, I do not.

I think both sides of the American political debate are completely poisonous, but not as poisonous as the writing in this article. I had to press the back button to figure out who did me dirty by linking to this drivel.

This article creates a false moral equivalency. The point of the left, that America is a terrible and racist country is patently false and is a ridiculous thing to say. If America is so racist, where in the world is less racist? (TUMBLEWEEDS) If America is racist, it has to be in comparison to Mexico or France or Nigeria, it can't be in comparison to an imaginary perfect society.

I have zero patience with this plague-on-both-your-houses nonsense. One sociopathic dirtbag divided this country: Donald Trump.

“I didn’t vote for Biden (neither did I vote for Trump).” With all due respect, Matt … we end up in the position we currently are in when good people like you don’t pick a side. It is for sure that neither side is ever perfect, however one side is DEFINITELY a better choice at this time in history compared to the other side. By sitting on the sidelines and not voting for the lesser of two evils, you are just as responsible for the current state of affairs as are the people who actually voted for this buffoon Biden. We only had some 40+ years of political experience with Joe Biden ruining shit to know exactly what we would get if he happened to win the Whitehouse.

One of the best summaries of America’s condition, and demise if we don’t turn the ship headed for an iceberg in the darkness of night.

Great work, Matt. I appreciate your well-rounded and equitable criticism of all parties involved - whether they like it or not. Additionally, thank you for showing us plebeians that no person escapes the mental fatigue that accompanies the cruel process of aging; we all make mistakes and we are all human. If we are so divided that we can't say we are all Americans, fine: I'm a human - just like you and everyone else.

Biden’s State of the Union was the greatest expression of the meaningless drivel of the politicians and the pathetic and diminishing once great American Republic, a government that today is a habitation of demons and unclean spirits.

Get out of my head, Matt.

I'm a first timer on the site, Matt, and found myself very in sync with your take. Looking forward to more.

A great analysis. Well done and thank you. Hopefully the ayatollahs are sleeping uneasily tonight.

It would be much easier to admire Biden's call for us to respect each other if he hadn't spent every minute since he announced his candidacy trying to tear us apart.

"I didn’t vote for Biden (neither did I vote for Trump). And I don’t particularly have much confidence in him dragging our fat out of the fire."

Same deal here. Problem is, there are apparently too few of us to make a difference.
